Born in Philadelphia, PA, Sharyn Wynters has always had an eye for the stage. After high school, Sharyn entered a beauty contest… and won! It was, in fact, the Miss World Contest, and Sharyn took the prestigious prize of Miss Pennsylvania. This led to a tour, which led to modeling, which led to introductions... and connections.
The worlds of modeling, fashion, TV, and film had now opened up to Sharyn Wynters.
After the tour, Sharyn took her career to the next level by accepting a modeling job in New York for Oleg Cassini, the world-renowned designer (and dress designer for Jacqueline Kennedy). While modeling, she met actress Bobbi Shaw, who inspired Sharyn to pursue the path of acting. It wasn't long before Sharyn said farewell to New York, packed up and drove all the way to California, and gave Los Angeles a try. After settling in, Sharyn soon found herself an agent, and after a quick and fortuitous introduction got connected with the vice president of 20th Century Fox, who then—after a brief meeting—gave her the role of Cat Girl on Batman. (This was all within two weeks of Sharyn's arrival in California!)
This led to a TV and film career, with credits including: Cat Girl on Batman (the original TV series), The Rockford Files, Kojak, The Odd Couple, Hook Line & Sinker, Westworld, and Funny Lady. Along the way Sharyn trained non-stop in order to refine her skills through acting lessons, continuing to study and fall in love with the craft of acting while simultaneously exercising it through various projects and roles.
Sharyn even continued to act throughout her sudden illness (and remarkable recovery). However, when she become pregnant with her first son, that was a game-changer. She put down the script, in order to fully focus on motherhood and being there for her family.
On a Sunday morning in mid 2018, after 40 years of not working, an incredible desire came over Sharyn to get back into acting. That day, Sharyn went to a baby shower event. At the event, Sharyn sat next to a woman, who randomly asked her... “have you ever considered getting back into acting?” Sharyn’s response was “why, yes, two hours ago.”
This woman, as it turned out, was an agent, who without hesitation said “I want to take you on.” Sharyn’s return to the silver screen had begun.
Soon after, Sharyn also reconnected with her old friend Bobbi Shaw-Chance (Sharyn’s actress friend who is now a renowned acting teacher to the stars), and was brought in for a Tuesday workshop – which led to a Thursday showcase – which led to a meeting with the executive producer of Night Mistress, who simply saw Sharyn’s abilites and said “I want you to star in my film.”
The movie is slated for release in early 2019.
Sharyn says “To return to acting with a starring role... is just incredible.”
